How Do You Value A Priceless Mom?

Do you know how much you are worth as a mom? To your family, you are priceless but from a dollars and cents perspective, you may be surprised to learn just how valuable you  are! How much is all of the juggling, fixing, driving and everyday doing really worth if you were getting paid for all of the things you are responsible for?

Every year, Salary.com puts out their annual "Mom's Salary Report" showing us all just how much moms are really worth. They calculate all of the hours spent by a mom to run a family household and then put a dollar figure on it so that everyone knows just how much a mom should be getting paid every year.

The last annual report listed a stay at home mom's financial contributions worth almost $113,000 per year. If a stay-at-home mom was ever handed a pink slip, dad would have to hire a nanny, a driver, a cook, a janitor, a psychologist, a laundry-machine operator, and a myriad of other professionals for the odd jobs moms do on a daily basis. A Salary.com calculation found that after all the various duties are added up, stay-at-home moms put in 94.7 hours in a typical workweek, and it would cost $112,962 a year to replace her. For working moms, the extra 57.9 hours a week of work they put in is worth $66,979. To find out exactly how much of a paycheck your specific hard work and efforts are worth, you can visit their mom salary calculator at:

A recent industry study shows that 2/3's of mom's think that their family would be in a world of hurt if they didn't make it home tomorrow. Their spouse won't be able to continue to work full-time and still take care of the many things that have to be done with kids and home. Or, if they do continue to work full-time, they will need to pay someone to help them take care of all of their new home duties. Either way, there is a price to replacing a priceless mom! But how much money does it take to make sure your family's emotional tragedy doesn't turn into a financial tragedy too? To find out for yourself, you can visit the Life Foundations website and try out their "How Much Do I Need" calculator. It's private and free, and a great way to find out EXACTLY how much your family would need if something were to happen to you.

Once you know how much you need, the next question to answer is "where would the money come from?"
